Chris Beardshaw plants first of 500 John Peel Tulips at Springfields Gardens - home of Festival Garden Centre.

On 01.10.05 Chris Bearshaw held a workshop at Festival Garden Centre. This was followed by Chris planting the first of 500 John Peel tulips in the Springfields Horticultural Society Festival Gardens.

Broadcaster and presenter John Peel, who died earlier this year, has a tulip named in his honour. A donation from the sale of each red tulip will help fund musical performances by children and youth groups in the Spalding Flower Parade.

Springfields Horticultural Society members have created a John Peel plot in their Festival Gardens at Spalding, with 500 John Peel tulips as part of their 2006 spring bulb display.
